Popular Nigerian actress and media personality, Stephanie Coker has spoken out on how she became pregnant with her first child.
After years of shying away from talking about infertility, it seems more and more women and men are coming forward to reveal the struggles they’ve faced in conceiving a child — and that includes many Nollywood stars.
Stephanie who gave brith to her first child in 2019 after her 2017 wedding to her hearthrob, Olumide Aderinokun, revealed that her child pregnancy was conceived through IVF -In-Vitro-Fertilization.
The popular actress wrote on Instagram page:
“My name is Stephanie Coker Aderinokun, I am a jetset mum, wife, TV host, entrepreneur and I conceived through IVF. ”
IVF is a medical procedure whereby an egg is fertilized by sperm in a test tube or elsewhere outside the body.
IVF refers to a technique of assisted reproduction where the egg and sperm are fertilised outside of the body to form an embryo. This embryo is then transferred to the uterus to hopefully implant and become a pregnancy.
It is a popular method of conceiving among rich and popular couples who struggle with years of infertility around the world.
