The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has been removed from the throne. The Usman Alhaji, secretary to the state government, announced at the special sitting of the Kano executive council that Muhammadu Sanusi II has been dethroned.
The governor said the Emir was removed because of his”total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the governor”.
