Nigerian dancehall singer, Timaya, has taken to social media that men should be building material.
According to legit.ng, the music star said that not only women need to be wife material and that men also need to be building material.
“In many parts of the world, particularly the African society, a lot is expected from women right from when they are just little girls,” Timaya stressed.
Timaya made a case for the girl-child saying many girls grew up being told how to behave and things to avoid doing so that they would be perceived as decent and men would want to settle down with them.
The Egberi Papa of Bayelsa is concerned about the fact ladies are gauged to determine whether they are wife material or not, but the same thing cannot be said for the men.
Timaya is worried about the the training given to men without regarding to their future role as husbands.
“A number of African men are not trained with their wives in mind and they are oftentimes allowed to grow up spoiled without imbibing the act of consideration for their women.”
“Well, that is not the case with all men as some women have done great jobs raising their sons who end up being marvelous husbands, Timaya said.
Sociologists and spiritualists also share their opinions on the relationships between man and woman as well as their upbringing.
A Christian spiritualist opines that in society, churches and social media people tend to preach on how woman should behave while they forget that marriage is for husband and wife.
“People need to focus less on woman being wife material because men also need to be husband material. If we really need wife material then we need husband material.”
Another leader of thoughts whose opinion was on this matter advised that men needs to be taught how to behave and become good husband. The society needs responsible well behaved men. “If men are taught to be husband material then we would have less divorce and toxic relationship as both parties will be held responsible.”
