Police minister, Bheki Cele, has set up another law that bottle stores and restaurants can no longer sell liquor past 6pm.
This rule is to be executed from today until mid-April.
According to Briefly it is supposedly to aid in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
However, it’s difficult to perceive how not selling alcohol past 6pm will help with stopping coronavirus.
Thando tweeted, “What does alcohol have to do with corona?”
She soon deleted the tweet after a bit of backlash, yet it was really a legitimate inquiry the same number of other South Africans were asking something very similar.
Fumani Mabuza responded, “They have been wanting to punish us for a very long time.”
