Celebrities including Rita Dominic, Ebuka Obi- Uchendu, Chike Ike, Beverly Osu, Iyabo Ojo, Lala Akindoju have lent support to their colleague, Nse Ikpe-Etim, after she announced that she has been on self-isolation since returning from the United Kingdom.
Ikpe-Etim had taken to her Instagram page on Friday (March 20) to share the news with her fans and followers. She wrote, “Yesterday, in the morning, I returned to Lagos from the UK— one of the countries listed as a COVID-19 hotspot by the Federal Ministry of Health.
“I am presently in self-isolation according to the directives of the National Centre for Disease Control and in constant communication with them. So far, I have not displayed any symptoms of the Coronavirus. However, I will maintain my isolation and keep people at bay till the coast is clear.”
Shortly after, the actress’ colleagues began posting encouraging comments on her page.
Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro wrote, “Stay safe darling.” Model and actress, Beverly Osu, also added, “Inside life, normal life.”
According to Punch.ng former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, also wrote, “Kudos to you, dear Nse. Glad to see you are upbeat. You’ll be up and about again. You have modelled the right behaviour for everyone else that was on that flight.”
Meanwhile, singer, Waje has also announced that she’s on self-isolation.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, she said, “Those who attended the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards have been told to self-isolate. I’m not panicking but I’m definitely going to stay home. I would try to contact the people I have been in contact with since the awards ceremony held. I’m also hoping that some of them would be watching this video (and know what to do).”
Unconfirmed reports had circulated on social media that one of the celebrities at the AMVCA has been exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus but refused to go for a test.
