A Nigerian-born British health-worker, Carol Jamabo has reportedly died from COVID-19 complications in the United Kingdom last Wednesday.
The 56-year-old mother of two and community caregiver at the Cherish Elderly Care in Bury, Greater Manchester, died after testing positive for Coronavirus.
Jamabo never had any major underlying health conditions but her health worsened rapidly even though she was on a ventilator at Salford Royal Hospital.
Her death was also confirmed by her nephew, Dakuro Fiberesima who disclosed that she was transferred to an intensive care unit at the Salford Royal Hospital. He confirmed that her condition worsened.
She moved to the UK from Nigeria in the early 1990s, working there for about 25 years. She also worked in the prison service and as an National Health Service (NHS) administrator at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London.
