Your oil of favour will not run dry. Men and woman will compete to favour you. The stress of favour-less labour will not frustrate you in the name of Jesus.
Favour could mean undeserved kindness. The Bible says Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favour with men and God – Luke 2:52.
This verse validates that as he grew, wisdom increased, his stature and status improved and favour increased. All those virtues were progressive in his life.
How did he do it? Some of the answers are in the same chapter. “Three says later they finally discovered him in the him in Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and answers.” – Luke 2:46-47.
These are the secrets to the growth in wisdom, stature and status and favour.
First, he loves the presence of God – he left his parents for three days and stayed in the Temple.
Second, he sat among the teachers – unlike those who go to church and still sit among or commune with unserious people that will distract them. He held the teaching of God’s word in high esteem.
Also, he was listening to the teachers – not pressing phone every minute or going to the toilet whilst in church like someone who has diarrhoea. Only listeners can receive the word of life.
Fourth, he was asking questions. He had genuine interest to know and grow. He knew when that word of God richly dwell in him, he will be ‘full of God’ and will naturally flow in God’s favour.
Fifth, his understanding was evident as all who heard him were amazed at his understanding. Understanding prompts right action which makes success inevitable.
Six, his answers astounded the teachers and other people. He was tested and was not found wanting in the word of God. Meanwhile, he was only twelve years ago.
The seventh secret is that he was obedient to his parents. “Then he returned to Nazareth with them and he was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart”.
There is a dimension of favour that comes with obeying, respecting and honouring your parents.
Though Jesus was around twelve here but he was full of wisdom, even much more than his parents but he was obedient to them. When you honour your parents, some virtues ooze out from them to you.
You CANNOT follow all these seven secrets and not grow in wisdom, stature-cum-status and favour.
The morale of the story is that favour didn’t jump on Jesus because he was Jesus, he walked in some divine secrets…you have just learnt from the best – JESUS
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him and he will show them his covenant – Psalms 25:14
Remain blessed and highly favoured.
