Cops in Gauteng were following information given about the operation in Zone 12, where local residents were arrested for contravening lockdown regulations by making and selling their own traditional beer, while it was banned.
In total, three people have been handcuffed for the act.
According to the images shared by Gauteng’s MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, the “brewers behaving badly” had come a long way before they were caught.

There’s no crime with home brewing, The National Disaster Act doesn’t completely ban people from making their own beer.
But, like with all actions involving liquor, restraint is key.
can make your own beer but making enough to sell to other citizens is a criminal offence.
