Stefflon Don, popular British rapper has posted on her Instagram, asking a question that has been bothering her for a while about the coronavirus pandemic.
The female rapper who’s currently in a romantic relationship with the Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, asked why there’s more reported cases of black people who have died of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Don thought someone could give an scientific explanation to the development. Furthermore, the rapper asked if the world is just going to move on with the news without bothering to find any explanation as to why COVID-19 is destroying more black lives.
She said: “Can someone explain the scientific reason on why ‘black people’ are dying of COVID-19 more? Or we are just going to run with the news. With no explanation?”

Don’s question caused a debate in her comment section. Here are some of the comments:
mommynata_: “It’s less scientific and more statistics. Poor/ “Urban” areas are vastly underfundedin means of medical care and health/wellness products. Most workers deemed “essential” are from those same places and have to go to work. But that’s making it short”
azurechic1: “We have more lifestyle diseases like diabetes, heart disease etc…that lower our immunity to fighting the disease. Also, we do a lot of the “essential / low paying jobs” that require us to keep going out and not stay at home, therefore exposed to coronavirus.” darlingg.nikki: “Healthcare disparities. Same reason why black women die during pregnancy and labor at a higher rate.”
starrbarbie: “More underline diseases such as, but not limited to … high blood pressure, asthma, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol etc..”
Such questions and thoughts could make one to think that there’s master mind behind this virus, everything about this lockdown doesn’t make sense.
