South Africa’s ace On Air Personality (OAP) who has lived with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) for about 22 years WITHOUT using AntiRetroViral (ARV) drugs says she’s has started using ARVs.
The star told fans this weekend that she was “not 100% well”, and thanked doctors at Netcare Waterfall Hospital for their help with her recent health struggles, as she seems to be succumbing to the deadly blow of the disease.
She revealed she had tested negative for Covid-19, but said the HIV in her body was “having a live concert”.
She tagged her Instagram Post: Covid-19 Realities where she thanked God for being alive, though not well but coping graciously with HIV in the face of a virulent Covid-19.

Covid_19 Realities First things first. Thank you God that I’m alive even though I’m not 💯 well. Many persons living with HIV, Diabetic and Cancer Survivors including many others who have immuno compromised health, this is a difficult period for us. The constant cleaning of surfaces, sanitizing, disinfecting and covered breathing though very necessary it unfortunately leads to unintended consequences. The immune system becomes lazy giving strength to any existing bugs in our bodies. After years of fighting My fighter cells are disarmed. I take this moment to thank you all for the prayers and words of encouragement. I’m grateful for a chance to say thank you to my family, friends and the medical staff @netcarewaterfallhospital I’m out of danger SARS-Covid free(negative) but the HIV in my body is having a live concert. This means I have to start ARV’s after 22yrs of living healthy with HIV. My immune system now needs help. The next six weeks are going to be hard but with God on my side I can face anything and any enemy. Finally to those who’ve spread silly gossip about me lying about being HIV antibody positive simply because I knew and shared how to take care of myself I forgive you. #gratefullheart❤️🙏🏽 #godisstillincontrol
One of her well wishers said: “The Lord has been with you for 22 years,He will see you through this time too”.
Another one said: “This kind of positive teaching from you it lights up so many people. You are in our prayers when you start your ARV. You are a conqueror. You have done it before and you will continue to conquer. Stay safe and be blessed sending lots of love . You have always educated people and some of us have learned from you”.
