It is a sad day for the entertainment industry as Majek Fashek also known as Majekodunmi Fasheke reportedly passed on.
The news was shared on his official Instagram page by his management
In a video, the management called on Nigerians to celebrate rather than mourn the death of the reggae icon dubbed The Rainmaker, as his contribution to the Nigerian music industry was great.

Recall that in 2019, it was reported that the music veteran was ill and battling for his life at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in England.
His manager Omenka, revealed the state of his health via a video shared on the official Instagram page of the singer.
While dismissing rumors that Majek has died, Omemka confirmed that he was flown out of Nigeria due to the seriousness of his condition.
He called on fans and followers of the star to extend their best wishes and prayers to him (Majek) during this fighting period.
Fashek was best known in Nigeria for the 1988 album, Prisoner of Conscience, which included the award-winning single, Send Down the Rain.
He also worked with various artists worldwide, including Jimmy Cliff, Tracy Chapman, Beyoncé, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Jackson.
