According to a Facebook post, Police in Nigeria are investigating the rape and murder of 18-year-old student, Barakat Bello who was killed on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Her younger brother found a pool of blood close to the bathroom when he got home as she had been home alone and investigations revealed she was raped and murdered.
The case is just one in a string of violent sexual attacks and murders of women in Nigeria in the space of a week.
She was a student at the Federal College of Animal Health. Reports confirmed that she had returned to her parents’ house to observe the movement restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
