In a viral June 6 online video, the suave pastor of Christ Embassy rebukes church leaders who appended their signatures to the document on the new-laid down rules to operate worship centres.
He attributed the behaviour of the said church leaders to fear, greed, and jealousy.
In Nigeria, part of the guidelines given is for churches to ensure they check the temperature of members before they enter the church, observe social distancing and take other relevant precautions.
The churches shall have only one hour service, suspend taking of holy communion coupled with the suspension of weekly activities.
Also, Pastor Chris Okotie, of the Household of God Church, Oregun, Lagos had rejected the guidelines issued by the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the reopening of worship centres tagging it ‘abomination of desolation’.
Pastor Okotie vowed: “Our doors will remain closed until these profanation and secularization have been pulverized by the Emperor of heaven”.
He had earlier lashed out at CAN for proposing similar guidelines. But now, he disclosed that the government cannot re-order worship in the house of God.
