Michael Boye Marquaye, a former Ghanaian footballer based in the United Kingdom has rocked the soccer world with a revelation that he is the biological father of Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.
Though from his photo and that of Rashford, a resemblance could be struck but Marquaye said other than resemblance, that his claim explains why the Man United star carries his genes as a footballer.
Available records to date say the Manchester United star was born to Jamaican parents Joseph Rashford, his father, and Melanie Rashford, his mother.
But the new news from the 65-year-old Marquaye proves otherwise throws a new twist to Rashford’s paternity but the footballer has not replied.
As at press time, there was no official reply from Man U on the matter.
In an interview on Starr Sports, Marquaye said he is the biological dad of Marcus Rashford and according to him, it is not a joke.
When queried why he is bringing this out now, Marquaye said he simply wants to set the records straight and to let the whole world know that Marcus Rashford has Ghanaian roots and not for any other motivation.
