Naira Marley may be arrested by the Nigerian Police for holding a concert in Abuja on Saturday amid the coronavirus restrictions.
The concert took place the Silverbird Entertainment Center in Abuja.
It was intended (and may have been approved) as a drive-in concert but videos from the gig showed a packed crowd who defy social distancing.
Naira Marley and Kim Oprah, ex-BBNaija star allegedly flew from Lagos to Abuja for the concert. This consequantially meant the duo have flouted the ban on interstate movement in Nigeria.
The ban on interstate travel may only be lifted by June 21, according to Sani Aliyu, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
Remember, Naira Marley was arrested and charged before Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba over non-adherence to the COVID-19 restriction order.
He was in the company of former governorship aspirant in Lagos State, Babatunde Gbadamosi as a guests at a party hosted by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, better known as JJC Skillz.
The ‘soapy’ singer was later released after tendering a written apology to the Lagos State Government.
He also supported his apology letter with an undertaking that he would henceforth comply with the government’s stay-at-home and social distancing directives.
Many Nigerians are interested at the move of the security authorities in the nation over Marley’s alleged disobedience to the restriction rule in the country.
