Ghanaian footballer, Derrick Otim (24) who played for Nottingham Forest died after he drowned in a lake in the US.
The former midfielder drowned on Friday, July 3, in Lake Keowee, South Carolina. 32 people had lost their lives there within 25 years in the lake.
The Lake Keowee was dubbed South Carolina’s “most deadly body of water” in a local news article in 2018.
Otim trained with Forest Academy, before moving to America for university four years ago and recently finished studies from Xavier University.
He was said to have been visiting friends in South Carolina before his sudden death.
Nottingham Forest FC and his former colleagues poured him tributes.
