Protesters rooting for Raymond Abbas Igbalode street-named Hushpuppi demand the arrest of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Timi Frank, Dino Melaye and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains.
These protesters insinuate that Hushpuppi may have helped some of these politicians launder money.
This protest held on Monday (July 6) at the US embassy in Abuja. The protesters want an investigation of the link of these politicians to arrested, suspected Nigerian fraudster, Hushpuppi.
They are largely members of the Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF) and are seen displaying placards with inscriptions such as “Say No to fraud, Interpol act now”, Interpol act and arrest Dino Melaye”, “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”, “FBI should investigate Atiku Abubakar.”, among others.
The CCF also submitted a letter to the United States of America’s Ambassador and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, demanding for a probe of Hushpuppi’s political allies in the PDP.
They theorised that Atiku Abubakar’s trips to Dubai before the 2019 presidential elections may be to liaise with Hushpuppi.
However, a trustworthy source from the PDP claimed this protesters were paid by the All Progressives Congress to discredit the PDP. “they are trying to score cheap political points ahead of 2023. They are jokers,” the anonymous source said.
