Jada Pinkett Smith revealed she did have a relationship with rapper, August Alsina.
The rapper, in a radio interview revealed he had been in a relationship with Pinkett Smith and that Smith had given the affair his “blessing”,.
This news led to speculation that the Hollywood power couple were in an open marriage.
The actress, on her chat show in a heart-to-heart with husband Will Smithsaid that the relationship happened while the pair were separated.
She divulged that: “We were over. From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”
Mr Smith then probes further: “an entanglement? A relationship.”
And she truthfully replied: “I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken”.
The power couple have been married since 1997 and have two children together.
They publicly declared they are currently back together after a split and Bothe decided do the show to clear up speculation circulating in the media over an interview August Alsina recently gave to a radio morning show, The Breakfast Club.
“The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself. I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a home-wrecker. Which he’s not”, adding that she had not spoken to the rapper in years.
She told Smith she got into the relationship over years ago with the rapper ‘just to feel good’.
He nodded in approval and sympathetically when Pinkett admitted that: “I just wanted to feel good. It had been so long since I had felt good”.
The couple are now back together and Pinkett Smith said they had reached a place of “unconditional love” and Will Smith promised he would get her back first and she assured him she’s back ‘for real’.
In closing, the couple fist-bumped saying: “We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life”, borrowing a quote from Smith’s Bad Boys movies.
