One of Kenya’s most adored Theatrical talents, the beloved Papa Shirandula succumbed to the COVID19 Virus. The announcement of his passing was reported to have taken place on Saturday the 18th of July in Karen Hospital in Nairobi, where he had been admitted after a short illness.
Born Charles Bukeko, the popular actor had achieved the rarified air that all actors crave, the love of their audience who in turn became loyal fans.
As a TV actor, the late Charles Bukeko would shine as the lead actor in the hit comedy Television Series, Papa Shirandula. On top of the acting accolades earned on the small screen, he was awarded Best Actor in a TV series in 2010. Cementing his string of accomplishments.
Bukeko also featured in Coca Cola TV Commercials along with ads for GOTV.
Acting as the lead in the hit TV Show Papa Shirandula until his demise, Charles Bukeko is credited with the massive contributions that he made to the Entertainment industry in Kenya, earning the respect of his peers and adoration of his fans.
“Without Papa Shirandula, there would no Willibroda, There would be no Jalango, There would no Awinja and other actors. He will never be forgotten,” Said Maryann Wangui and Educator.
Bukeko is survived by his wife Beatrice Ebbie Andega, and three children—Tony, Charlie, and Wendy.
