Teams that play in the Premier League make a large sum of money every year because almost everybody loves soccer.
The English football clubs have lost a large amount of money this year due to the lockdown.
Manchester City did not only give up the Premier League title to Liverpool this season, they also lost the most income since the Corona virus pandemic in March 2020.
The effect of the Corona virus resulted in fans not being able to go to stadiums and watch soccer since it returned in June.
Pep Guardiola, a Spanish football manager, lost £24 million because of fans not being allowed to go to the stadium to watch live soccer, in order to keep the fans safe and for the virus not to spread.
Manchester United also lost a huge amount because their fans were not able to attend their match at Old Trafford stadium in Stretford, England.
They lost about £18 million and Liverpool lost £13 million.
Tottenham Hotspur, losing £12.6 million, and Newcastle United, losing £12.1 million, made up the top five teams that lost the most money in this seasons Premier League.
Liverpool, however, still has one thing to celebrate despite losing millions they have won the Premier League once again.
