A keto diet is a diet that needs one to eat meals that are high in fat, low in protein, and very low in carbohydrates.
It is, however, hard to find meals in Nigeria that are not high in carbohydrates.
This is how to make cabbage swallow for a keto diet.
Cabbage is a vegetable that is very low in carbohydrate, it comes in green, white, and purple.
If one does not want to use cabbage they may use coconut flour, cauliflower, or garden egg as replacements.
1/2 head of cabbage
2 tablespoons of Psyllium husk ( which is gluten-free husk from the seed of a plant called Plantago and sold at pharmacies and health stores)
- Cut and wash the cabbage
Boil with a small amount of water for about 5 minutes
Strain water and blend cabbage till it forms a fine puree.
Pour puree into a pot and heat on low flame for about 3 minutes while stirring.
While heating up, add psyllium husk to bind the puree together and keep stirring with a wooden spoon.
This can be served and enjoyed with a soup of your choice, some soups you can eat on a keto diet are Okro soup, soup, or Vegetable soup
