Triller (a video-sharing app) became the top app in 50 countries, earlier this week.
The app shared US (United States) and global charts with an American company called Billboard, and Nigerian artists made sure that they made music that was good enough to be on these charts and become more popular and recognised globally.
Nigerian stars such as Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Davido, DJ Cuppy, and Mayorkun made the top 20 of the US and global charts.
On the US chart, Tiwa Savage’s “Dangerous Love” made it to number 4 and Adekunle Gold’s “AG Baby” featuring Nailah Blackman made it to number 15.
On the global chart, Tiwa Savage’s “Dangerous Love” made it to number 2, and Cuppy’s “Jollof On Jet” featuring Rema and Rayvanny made it to number 5.
Other entries on the global charts include, Adekunle Gold’s “AG Baby” featuring Nailah Blackman made it to number 8 and Mayorkun’s “Betty Butter” featuring Davido made it to number 9.
Number one of the US charts was by Kash Doll’s (an American rapper) “Ice Me Out” while the global chart’s number one was by Armaan Malik’s (an Indian singer-songwriter) “Next 2 Me”, this song has been number one for three weeks in a row.
