The well-known rapper and actor, 50 Cent, disapproves of the Emmy awards after his crime series Power was not nominated for the Emmy 2020 awards.
Power is a crime and drama TV series that 50 Cent acted in and executive-produced, the series was aired from the 7th of June 2014 until the 9th of February 2020.
The show constantly has positive reviews from critics and viewers but the Emmy Awards constantly ignore the show.
50 Cent went to Instagram to voice his disappointment, he posted a painting of his backside and captioned it “ok here it is Emmy’s, My Black ass for your consideration to kiss,” with a middle finger emoticon.
He also went on to state that he only cared about the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People’s annual Image Awards (NAACP).
Power has been nominated for the NAACP awards 11 times, since the series began, and has won 5 times (including twice for Outstanding Drama Series) out of the 11 nominations but the series has never been nominated for an Emmy award.
This is not the first time that the rapper has spoken up about not being nominated for the Emmy awards, in 2019 he posted the breakdown of Power’s ratings and stated in the caption that the Emmy’s can kiss his backside in slow motion and that his show was rated number one.
The series gained positive reviews for pacing, atmosphere, and acting.
It is one of Starz’s most highly rated shows and one of cable’s most-watched show.
