Global music star, Burna Boy’s fifth album ‘Twice As Tall’ is to executive-produced by Sean Combs a.k.a P-Diddy, so the album may get richer global relevance.
The award-wining star disclosed the meat of the story yesterday alongside the news that ‘Twice As Tall’, was being released on August 14.
Apparently, Burna Boy needs Diddy’s musical Midas touch to exalt his career to the heavens.
The enlistment of American musician and business mogul Sean Combs, a.k.a. Diddy, as executive producer was confirmed in a recent feature on The New York Times.
Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige, among others are part of the stars who has Diddy’s flavour in their risings.
Diddy said: “I’m on record that I like; hit records. If they’re not hit records, I don’t like them”.
Diddy confirmed his help is sought oftentimes when artist wants fire shut up in their bone for a career push.
“A lot of times when an artist wants to be coached or pushed to maybe a greater level, that’s where I’ve come in,” he said.
As per Burna Boy, Diddy said he’s already a start who wants to shine more.
“He, as every artist, he wants his music to be heard by the world. He doesn’t care about crossing over. You know, he’s not trying to get hot. He’s not, like, ‘I want to be a big pop star’ — he’s already a star. He wants his music to be heard, his message, his people.”
For the “post Grammy nomination” effort, Burna Boy has combined with local and international artists, and also tapping from a diverse well of top producers such as longtime collaborator LeriQ, Telz, Jae 5, P2J, etc.
