Seyi, the son of the late former chairman of African Newspapers Limited, Oluwole Awolowo, speaks about his career, family, and other issues.

Seyi stated that he had a good childhood, he grew up in a large family with 10 children and 20 grandchildren, and he is the last child and grandchild.

He stated that he learned a lot from his 19 siblings, his family was conservative and he had a strict background because they were guided by firm principles.

He stated that he is trying to be more prosperous than his grandfather and that people do not understand that he does not get pocket money because is an Awolowo.

He is an actor, content creator, and voice-over artist, he also sells lands and cars when he needs to.

The young man has tried to make the best life for himself, he does not pretend to be something he is not to please others, he tries to treat everybody equally, and he has had his fair share of heartbreaks.

Seyi stated that he has felt the pain of being down, explaining that when he was young he stole a very expensive wristwatch that belonged to his father because he wanted to fit in and his father disciplined him for a very long time and that made him want to commit suicide because of the shame, that was one of the incidents that taught him to value life.

He stated that the rumours about him being a doctor are not true and that he would have loved to be one but he is not.

He also stated that he would like to be greater than his grandfather, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and he will do this by doing his best and aiming for the top.

He does not mind being in politics and would like his children to grow up in Nigeria.

When asked why he decided to partake in the Big Brother Naija reality show he stated that he wanted to define his character away from the Awolowo legacy because people only saw him as Awolowo’s grandson.
