African Kids Fashion Week competition, 7-year-old winner, June Wisse has emerged, this is an event that is created to showcase African fashion for children.
The second runner is Jayson Egbon and the tthird is Oladeji Excel.
This year’s theme was the “SHOWCASE” which gave African children the platform to show the best African fashion inspired by the rich and diverse African cultures with the traditional fabrics in a creative and stylish way as organised by Smart Code Africa.
The competition was held online with the contestant with the highest likes and the most engagement being the African Kids fashion Week winner.
The Creative Director of the event, Mr Ajibola Akande, stated that this fashion show is to showcase the best African fashion for kids.
He also went on to say that this year the aim was to build the attitude and personality for the young Africans to love and embrace the attires.
Economically this was meant to retain the foreign exchange that goes out of Africa.
The competition allowed children from the age of 4 to 12 years old to enter and showcase their attires, it started on the 9th of August 2020 and ended on the 22nd of August 2020 while voting started on the 23rd of August 2020 and ended on the 29th of August 2020.
The voting activities had Nigerian celebrities join in and campaign for votes for their favourite candidates to win.
