A 61-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a seven-year-old boy in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg South Africa.
It is alleged that on Monday, the 31st of August 2020, at one of the plots at Rietfontein, South Africa, the suspect, 61-year-old man who has not been identified, sent the victim, 7-year-old boy who has also not been identified, to the shop.
When the young boy returned, the elderly man instructed the victim to undress and pushed him onto the bed, and covered the boys face with a pillow and while he raped him this wss stated by the police spokesperson, Constable Boitumelo Sehloho.
The man is set to appear in the Krugersdorp magistrate’s court, South Africa, this week.
Gender-based violence is one of the main focuses of SAPS’ national strategies to decrease crimes against women and children, especially when it is at such a peak in the country, where there are cases arising every week of violence against women and children.
Rape is one of the priority cases in Muldersdrift precinct area, South africa, Constable Boitumelo Sehloho went on to state.
The SAPS will make sure that perpetrators of crimes against women and children are handled accordingly and those who are found guilty will be prosecuted accordingly.
