Elizabeth Oyeniyi accused Abdulmumuni Danga of brutalising her and raping her multiple times on the 29th of March 2020 because of posts she put up on Facebook.
The Facebook post that resulted in the alleged assault was of Elizabeth Oyeniyi asking Abdulmumuni Danga to assist his sister, her old friend, and the family financially.

She stated that the commissioner also smashed her phone and destroyed because he said she might have been recording what was happening.
Elizabeth Oyeniyi stated that Abdulmumuni Danga would have killed if it was not for her son who was present.
She stated that all this happened while tere were about 15 of his men present and taking videos.
After this happened Abdulmumuni Danga allegedly drove her to a hotel close to the Kogi State House in Lokoja, Nigeria, where he allegedly forcefully raped her three times overnight, the victim claimed after her release.
Abdulmumuni Danga denied the allegations but civil rights groups, led by Dorothy Njemanze, put pressure on the police to investigate the matter.
Activists also called on the Kogi State government to sanction Abdulmumuni Danga, and the state has promised to investigate the matter.
During the investigation, activist Segun “Segalink” Awosanya claimed there has been pressure from the state governor and others in the political class to pervert justice.
Five months after investigation began, the police have opened a criminal case against the commissioner after questioning all parties involved.
Abdulmumuni Danga appeared in the police headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, on 2nd of June 2020 and the 5th of July 2020 for interrogation.
