Popular Nigerian actress, Lala Akindoju rebukes Pastor David Ibiyeomie of the Salvation Ministries for his angry outburst against Daddy Freeze, whom the pastor ‘cursed’ and lambasted for insulting Bishop David Oyedepo – his spiritual father.
Lala Akindoju said that she is ashamed for pastor Ibiyeomie only because he misrepresented the gospel of Jesus.
She also expressed her shock at the congregation who echoed the insults, saying that is not what the Bible teaches.
THE CONTROVERSIAL VIDEO
However, her comments were not free from backlash from other Christians who differ. One of the commentators asked: “Are you sure you know the Bible, Prophet Elisha cursed 42 children who insulted him and two female bears came out of the woods and tore up the 42 lads”.
The commentator supporter her stance with a Bible quotation: 2Kings 2:23025 “Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria”.
LALA AKINDOJU’S SERMON ON THE MATTER
Meanwhile I just watched the video of that pastor. It is wrong, SO WRONG! First as a supposed christian, then as leader and finally as human human being. I’m even more shocked at the congregation echoing the insults. Please that is not what the Bible preaches, this is why it is
important to know God for yourself, read your bible yourself and don’t get blinded by religion. I am very ashamed for him only because he has misrepresented the gospel of Jesus. Proverbs 18 is a good scripture to meditate on today. Selah!”
The matter stirs division and Bible debates on “if a pastor can rebuke, get angry or curse somebody”.
