Rotimi Adegboye, a professional videographer based in South Africa says Nollywood movies have poor pictures largely due to the camera men’s unprofessionalism and poor attention to detail.
WHY SOME NOLLYWOOD MOVIES HAVE POOR PICTURE QUALITY
The graduate of Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polythecnic in Ogun State, Nigeria said his own career was inspired by a veteran film maker, Tade Ogidan.
Rotimi’s talent started getting obvious when he was a child as he would watch programmes on television with critical eyes, which later made him study Mass Communication.
Mr Adegboye, the Chief Executive Office (CEO) of The Vibes Media, disclosed that initially he never loved handling a camera when he was a student because he did not want to be tagged as a ‘party cameraman’, so he focused on being a producer and a production manager.
But as fate put him behind cameras and his first job in South Africa was a cameraman.
He also said that handling a camera is beyond what cameramen do especially in Nollywood movies.
His passion for videography gave him a edge in the industry and he emphasised that one has to be very disciplined to be a professional cameraman.
He advocates for continuous learning as one of the core secrets of the craft as technology changes dynamically.
