Qdot mentioned the names of some people who were his ladder to his success. Banging was the first person to pay for his studio session when a producer demanded that he dropped his phone in other to get a studio session to record his music.
He knew that it was impossible for him to afford a studio session as he only earns forty-five naira a day in those days.
He disclosed that Banging came through for him and he was able to record the music with Seriki and sold the record on the street.
He later met Drumface before he then met Antrans who produced some of his songs and one of them is ALOMO META
He revealed that he started singing professionally in 2004 while he was still in Secondary School.
His first song he sang was a gospel song and he was featured in it – that was also his first time he entered a studio.
The first song he did was produced by Salem who is a guitarist.
ALOMO META was a hit out of many songs he did. Some other songs did not see the light of the day and some got burnt down with the studio while some could not be produced due to lack of funds.
He prefers singing in his local dialect to reinforce his uniqueness and have a competitive edge.
Qdot said that he decided to use a church song and that he also got the inspiration to sing ALOMO META from an Ethiopian song he heard while he was traveling on an airplane. He didn’t understand the language but he fell in love with the song and then cooked up ALOMO META which brought him to the limelight.
Some people advised him not to release the song because it sounds like a song for cultists. he had to remove his name from his hit song ALOMO META initially but because it was time for him to shine, the song became very popular so he had to quit his factory job and concentrate on music fully.
