Abayomi Oluwagbemiga Ogundele, a Nigerian bar and restaurant owner based in South Africa people advised those who are planning to relocate to South Africa to acquire skills before they arrive in the country because there are no job opportunities in South Africa.
He disclosed that most foreigners in South Africa people create jobs for themselves though South Africa is a good country to live in.
He hinted further that the absence of stable electricity is one of the reasons many Nigerians chose to invest in South Africa than back home.
The high level of unemployment compels plenty of people to seek lucrative start-ups, as starting a business in South Africa is easy because of the availability of social amenities in major cities
Mr. Ogundele revealed that the high crime rate is high is one of the challenges in South Africa.
He also shared the story of how he rose from a cleaner to bartender, then to the position of a manager before he was able to buy the business from his boss after five years of working under her.

Mr. Ogundele pleads with the Nigerian government to look into the issue of electricity as it is difficult to adapt when visiting Nigeria and it discourages many Nigerians abroad from investing in their fatherland.
He said owning a bar in South Africa is easy, as all you need do is to get approval from the Liquor Board and the Municipality. The proposed location is then inspected before getting final approval. The government agency prioritises ensuring the environment is conducive for the customers and void public disturbance.
