Ace Nigerian female drummer, Aralola Olamuyiwa stage-named Ara discolsed there dating intentions between her and Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II but the ‘intentions’ never came to fruition.
The pioneer drummer resigned from her duty as the cultural ambassador to the Ooni of Ife because she felt it was the right thing to do at that time and out of respect for the King and the throne of Ile-ife but she later regretted taking such decision.
She clarified she was very close to him because she was his cultural ambassador.
The popular female drummer revealed that the closest she has ever been with the king was only on an occasion where she knelt before the King and he tapped her on her shoulder which happened in the presence of many people and the King does that to many people as well.
She also debunked the rumour of her charming the King with a magic wand, with people referring to a traditional staff she often holds. She said the staff was originally a prop bought for one of her movies.
She later used the staff to ‘swagger-up’ her dress sense while performing on stage. Ara said: “is it even possible to charm the King? a whole Onirisa, he’s a god, not just a King”.
THERE WERE INTENTIONS FOR A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ARA AND ONI:
She averred further that it was impossible to have an affair with Oba Adeyeye because Ooni cannot marry a woman who already has a child.
In addition, Ara also cleared the air on the reason she resigned from being the cultural ambassador to Ooni of Ife. She revealed that there was no smooth relationship between her and the ex-queen, Wuraola Otiti back then in the palace but she was not the only one the ex-queen had ‘issues’ with.
Ara disclosed that when she was addressed as a ‘Queen’ when she was in charge of the widows for Ooni, which angered the ex-Queen. This fuelled the rumour that she was intimate with the King.
She said when Ooni assigned one Mrs. Sarafa to be in charge of the Oloris (wives of the former Ooni), one of the Oloris insisted they wanted Ara because she has been taking care of them before the arrival of the ex-wife of Ooni – this strengthen the rumour that she was dating the king.
Former Olori Wuraola requested that she hands off the widow’s project as she sees that she’s playing the role of a Queen in the palace.
Ooni of Ife intervened in the matter and instructed Ara to continue with her duty after he spoke to his estranged wife.
Ooni of Ife and Ex-Queen Wuraola:
Ara later convinced the ex-Olori Wuraola that she was not having an affair with the King.
Ara hinted that Olori Wuraola was smart and resourceful but couldn’t manage her emotions. Bad advisers worsened her lot in the palace, plus her poor knowledge of Yoruba culture, according to Ara.
