Yeye Omolara Fasola Fanimokun the current Yeye Olokun-Olorisa (sea priestess) of Lagos State who also practices as a Maritime lawyer, disclosed how a pastor and the general overseer of a Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria told her in a vision that she has a calling that has to do with water and that God wants to use her but her ministry is not in a church.
Born into a Muslim family, attended Islamic schools as a child didn’t change the fact that Yeye Omolara knew she had some connections with water from a very tender age. In Olokun’s words:
“From an early age, I used to find myself bathing, playing in the water. Also whatever I ask from the sea goddess she does it for me”.
During one of her services at the beach, she spoke to BBC News Yoruba about being a Muslim, who had spent 20 years in church as a Christian and a prophetess before coming to a place where she had to go to the sea to worship Olokun. Yeye Omolara added that the traditional religion is the most potent to solve all human problems and through it, sanity, peace, and prosperity can be guaranteed to anyone in dire need of them.

The pretty Olorisa-Olokun’s father is from Lagos while her mother is from Edo State and both families believe in the worship of Olokun.
She also expressed appreciation to her husband who stands firmly by her and he is not against her religion despite the fact that he is an elder in his church. He met Omolara also in the church before she hid to the calling of serving the sea goddess.
