Azeez Fashola stage-named Naira Marley has come under attack by many Nigerian parents for his indecent lifestyle and utterances and for allegedly promoting internet fraudsters and other social vices.

Recently Amotekun arrested some set of Secondary School children who are influenced by Naira Marley and also acts like him for being a bad influence to their peers. This has caused an uproar among some Nigerian Youths.

In the video, a female narrator who is supposedly a teacher at the school described the arrested children as the ‘criminals in the school’ Naira Marley has reacted to this viral video and called this act ‘child abuse’ and added that the teachers and the securities with guns In the video should be arrested. He also said he owes the ‘Marlian kids’.

Naira Marley is a popular Afro-beat singer in Nigeria. Some say Naira Marley is a reflection of our decaying country.

He once declared that ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ on Instagram to his fans. He once claimed and justified that internet fraud is a way of getting what the whites did to Africans in the past so it’s a way for getting what belongs to them.

On 10 May 2019, the EFCC arrested Naira Marley alongside his friends Zlatan Ibile Tiamiu Kayode, Adewunmi Moses, and Abubakar Musa. They were arrested a day after he released the video for the controversial single “Am I A Yahoo Boy”.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released Zlatan Ibile a few days later, and three others but kept the ‘Marlian President’ in their custody due to overwhelming evidence against him which he pled not guilty.

One of his highly-controversial tracks, Soapy accompanied with some dance steps also played a bad influence on the youths including toddlers and children who are tagged ‘Marlians’.
