The story of a 10-year-old armed robber, Monday Omoruye who was arrested for armed robbery did not shock many Nigerians and this leaves many Nigerians in shock.
The popular indifferent reaction of Nigerians to a young boy who claimed he is part of a gang that has killed two people in their operations remains a cause for concerns on the level depravity in the country.
Some analyst claimed the country has degenerated so much that such ‘strange act” is no longer new while others say Nigeria is in so much trouble now: that the young boy’s story carries no news weight.
Some attribute the boy’s involvement in robbery to the degeneration of moral value in Nigeria.
One commentator said:”This is shocking. How did we get here in Nigeria. This is unheard of”.
The young boy lives somewhere around Ring Road in Edo State, Nigeria and was recently arrested by security operatives for robbery and murder.
In a video that has now gone viral, he confessed that his brother introduced him to robbery and he has engaged in the criminal act four times so far.
Omoruye was arrested for the theft of a phone by some local securities in the area before he was handed over to the police.
He added that his brother thought him how to shoot a small pistol and they also stole two police guns from the Oba Market Police Station during the #EndSARS protest in 2020 which are all in his brother’s possession.
Monday revealed that he has killed two people so far during their four robbery operations at Sapele, Siluko Road, and Sakpoba.
