Feranmi Fasunle was a 200-level student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State, Nigeria reportedly committed suicide recently for reasons unknown. This has left her family and friends in shock and her death a mystery.
BBC News interviewed some of her friends and neighbours but none of them could state the specific reason for such action by the deceased.
One of her neighbours disclosed that she did not commit suicide because of any man as many people are speculating. She was not seen with any man while she was alive.
Her friend revealed that she only called out her name after she drank the poison and she, therefore, met her on the floor. She asked Feranmi what happened and she confessed to her that she drank ‘sniper’.
The deceased friend added that she immediately got a motorcycle and took her to the nearest pharmacy but the pharmacist told her there was nothing he could.
Thereafter, she then took her to a hospital but unfortunately they couldn’t assist her until she then took her friend to the health centre.
it was from the health centre they were transferred to the General Hospital, Ikare and then to Federal Medical Centre (FMC Owo). She added that her friend was said to be responding to treatment.
The young lady further said that she left the hospital to freshen up but on returning she received a call that she had passed away.
To date, no one could point out the reason Feranmi committed suicide.
’She was kindhearted and a devoted Christian’ said one of her coursemates.
